Foreign artists hired by a company based in France
Labor regulations
Employers who hire foreign nationals are required to verify that they hold valid work permits authorizing them to perform the job in question, and if necessary, employers must take the proper steps to obtain a work permit for the employee.
Moreover, the totality of work regulations apply to this situation and the employer notably must :
- ensure that the employee has submitted to an occupational medical examination within the last year, and if this is not the case, arrange for the employee to submit to an examination ;
Nb > In the case of « artistic and cultural profession » temporary residence cards, the medical certificate issued by the ANAEM must be retained (see Foreign artists – Residence and work permits ).
- draw up a temporary work contract. This contract must be written or translated in French ;
- abide by the collective and other applicable agreements ;
- register the employee on the company payroll ;
Nb > For foreigners who require work permits, employers must indicate the type of permit (permanent residence card, temporary, etc.), and the identification number, and attach a photocopy of the document.
- carry out all usual formalities for hiring employees (DPAE or DUE, registration with the URSSAF, etc.).
